Designing healthier, more inviting spaces for cities, businesses, and communities.

Growing Anyway is an innovative start-up company founded in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. As cities and communities adapted to the challenges presented by the virus, Growing Anyway recognized a unique opportunity to enhance urban life through the beauty and vitality of plants.

The summer of 2021 marked a turning point for businesses and communities across the United States. With indoor dining significantly restricted due to health concerns, restaurants in many parts of the country pivoted to outdoor service. This widespread shift led to a surge in al fresco dining, where guests enjoyed their meals outdoors, often for the first time in urban settings. As outdoor dining became the new norm, the importance of creating attractive, comfortable, and inviting outdoor spaces grew immensely.

It was during this time that the founders of Growing Anyway noticed a growing trend: restaurants began to adorn their outdoor seating areas with large, vibrant potted plants. These plants not only added aesthetic appeal but also created a sense of privacy and tranquility amid bustling city streets. Inspired by this movement, Growing Anyway launched its services by providing stunning plant arrangements for restaurant patios and friends’ poolside areas, helping businesses and homeowners alike create memorable outdoor experiences.

The company’s vision quickly expanded beyond restaurant patios. Recognizing the potential to transform entire neighborhoods, Growing Anyway started placing beautiful, large potted plants along city streets, beginning in the charming community of Somerville, NJ. These installations brought new life to sidewalks, encouraged social interaction, and fostered a sense of pride among residents and business owners.

Growing Anyway is dedicated to revitalizing cities and communities by enhancing outdoor spaces with exotic, lush potted plants. We believe that greenery is more than decoration—it’s a catalyst for well-being, social connection, and sustainable urban living. Our journey began with restaurant patios and poolside retreats, but quickly expanded to city streets, sidewalks, and public spaces, fostering pride and engagement among residents and business owners.
